2013-2016

It all started when I was 13 in 7th grade when I decided to make and bring cupcakes to school to share with my friends at lunch. They became very popular in 8th grade, so I took it to the next level. In 9th grade I started selling my cupcakes and testing the boundaries of what I could do. My mom had always been the one to make delicious looking and tasting pastries that were very decorative, so I was just following in her shoes. I love experimenting with pastries and dishes and showing others what I can do. I hope I can continue my work and help others to bring out their talents through the things they love. If you have a dream, try the best you can to pursue it.

2017-2018

I am finally going to be a senior this September. Although junior year was tough, I learned a tremendous amount that has helped me strive to continue my love for food and creating. I was able to take the new Bake Shop II class, the best experience of my schooling ever. I learned under a retired Chef the importance of sanitation, business, serving, presentation, and a whole lot more. I now have two new sections in my store because of this class. In May students from my class and the Culinary II class competed in a cook-off at the Connecticut Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport (pictures right). It was an amazing experience! (Check it out here)

Outside of class I have lead bake sales at school and have been experimenting with flavors and pastries at home. I have acquired some new skills, insight, and a new, more intense passion for baking. This summer is my time to express my love through cooking and baking, and spread the love to my customers. 

2019-2020

Unfortunately, life rarely goes according to plan. My last year of high school I moved, and it took a long time for my family and I to adjust to the change. There were no culinary programs in my new school, college preparation was lost because some important information was not transferred over, and personal issues set me back for awhile. It took me some time to prepare for college again, and in 2019 I was accepted into The Culinary Institute of America for fall 2020. Not too long after the Covid-19 pandemic started, and I decided that it would be best that I wait another year until I begin school because I want the full experience and I also want to stay safe. Although going to my dream school is part of my plan in becoming a great pastry chef, it hasn't stopped me from trying on my own. In my time home and working at my grocery store bakery I have learned a lot and plan on continuing my education online as well. I have a new, more refined path that I want to follow, and am working toward bringing the world my love in a way that will help all that it reaches.
